    1. Objective: Learn about the importance of ballet arms and their role in ballet; learn the 6 basic positions of ballet arms (for beginners)

      1. Essential for understanding the foundations of a ballerina’s strongest feature!

    1. Competency: The student can list correctly terms used for ballet (AKA the six different arm positions: preparation, first, second, third, fourth, fifth)

  5. Standard (Competency): Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness.

      3. Exercise/ group activity: Ask students to go to the center of the class and teach them the 6 basic arm positions essential for any ballerina.

    1. Ask for 2-3 students to volunteer to demonstrate all six positions to the rest of the class. 

      1. Through doing this, students will demonstrate knowledge of some of the foundations of ballet, specifically the different ballet arm positions, which is essential for any ballet dancer at the start of the training.
